19th century tobacco jar in painted and patinated terra cotta, representing a carlin dog in two parts: the head can be lifted to be used as a tobacco jar.
Under the base, we can read the initials BB for Bernard Bloch d’Eichwald, who was a porcelain and terra cotta manufacturer in Dubi, Bohemia, Tzchek Republic.
A. Tschinkel acquired a Buschmüle mill where he installed a porcelain manufacture, becoming in 1871 the “Eichwalder Porzellan und Ofenfabriken Bloch and Co.
