Among others, two pieces to be found here: a large pastel capturing Carole Lombard right before her tragic death in a plane crash in 1942, and a pencil drawing with watercolor made by André Dunoyer de Segonzac, representing his wife Thérèse Dorny… Two different items, two actresses, but they are gathered purely by chance. However, Dominique de Francqueville, who settled in Marché Dauphine ten years ago, loves the art of portrait from 1850s to 1950s. He combines it with genre scenes and still lives from the same periods, whether they are oil paintings, pastels or watercolors.
