Sophie Gallardo studied interior design then wood paint restoration (giving antique furniture a second life). Working with renowned professionals she acquired a great technical expertise. In 2007, she opened her shop at Marché Dauphine.

Sophie Gallardo et Georges-Guillaume Cassan decide to exploit birch barks, so easy to find in the forests. They invent an atypical process and develop a unique know-how: marquetry made from birch bark.

Each piece is unique, and can take up to three months work. They use well-made pieces of furniture from the 1700s to the 1970s, taking advantage of the bark imperfections and flaws to create graphic shapes and patterns. And they use mineral inlays (labradorite, rock crystal, amethyst…) to add a  precious look to these new furniture they turn into cabinets of curiosities.
