MODERN & CLASSIC ANTIQUE MARKET, MORE OF 150 SPECIALIZED ANTIQUE DEALERS, AN ECLECTIC & METICULOUS OFFER, IN « LES PUCES » OF PARIS SAINT-OUEN
In the heart of « Les Puces” of Paris-Saint-Ouen, located north of Paris, Marché Dauphine is a 64500 sq ft space gathering more than 150 vendors. It captures the spirit of the times. Its personality is a mix of antiques, design, contemporary creation, arts and crafts, fashion, and pop culture.
In Saint Ouen, one could trace a passage way called “dauphine” on the map of the flea market. It was here that was built, in the early 90’s, a covered market: The Marché Dauphine, its glass roofed architecture influenced by the pavillon Baltard dating back to the “Second Empire”.
Since its opening in 1991, Marché Dauphine has built a strong standing as a singular and ultra-specialized flea market, blending the traditional aspect of the “puces” with Avant-guard eclecticism. Its singularity: apart from the different services it offers, the Marché provides a temporary exhibition space, the only of its kind in the whole area of the flea market. Located on the first floor, it is called the Galerie Dauphine and is open to any kind of artistic field, specialties and collections.
A prestige market, structured, singular, friendly, lively, Marché Dauphine is ideally located at the beginning of rue des Rosiers, the strategic axis of the Puces.
Specialities & peculiarities: the Heart of the Flea Market
Marché Dauphine is the only one to offer under a single roof the very best of curiosity. It is a demanding yet accessible living place for sharing, playing, learning, and offers wonderful selection of Heritage, Art History, Popular Culture, Experimental Activities and Expertise.
Its virtually endless list includes:
Classic and modern antiques, plastic design from the pop culture years, furniture and objects from the 20th century, jewelry from the roaring twenties, old tools, vintage fashion, trinkets, industrial furniture, precious fabrics, cartoons and illustrated magazines, luxury watchmaking, postcards, furs, tapestry and passementerie, orientalism, Americana, Hi-Fi and sound systems, antique books and catalogues, small bric-a-brac, toys, musical scores….as well as arts and crafts studios – birch bark marquetery, gilding, framing, painting and frame restoration – and painting studios.
As such, Marché Dauphine can positively claim itself to be the heart of the Puces.
Pop and trendy
Dauphine has always been anticipating new trends. This is where the very first vintage hi-fi store opened its doors- launching the music section -, the first booth of antique tools, and the first booth of showbusiness textiles. The Market is also well-known as being the first in the “Puces de St Ouen” to host a contemporary art gallery. This is also the place where the book section was created. Because of its eclecticism and specific specializations the Marché Dauphine is frequently visited by personnalities such as Sophie Marceau, Fabrice Luchini, Vanessa Seward,Vincent Darré, Jean-Bernard Hebey, Valérie Lemercier… This emulation is illustrated by mural frescoes created by street art French artists, such as Ramzi Adek who did the “Modern & Classic” identity fresco.
In September 2013, Benoît Ramognino, a dealer specializing in Pop Culture, installed his FUTURO House at Dauphine. This is scheduled to accommodate thematic sales exhibitions which reflect its eccentricity and its utopian style.
Marché Dauphine eclectic and in-depth offer is dedicated to the most sophisticated collectors and creative designers, as well as visitors looking for trendy objects and more generally the public in search of curios.
